Ages 3 years to 12th Grade
Sundays 9:15 to 10 :15 a.m.

Ages 3 years to 5th Grade

Children experience Christian Education through dedicated Sunday School teachers and programs that are spiritually fulfilling, thought provoking, and just plain fun!

3 & 4 Year Olds

Our three and four year olds enjoy Sunday School classes that are active and Interactive.  Hands on Bible (www.HandsOnBible.com) curriculum enables children to experience Bible stories and lessons appropriate for their age and energy.  The lessons combine activities, stories, music, and puppetry to impress the point of the lesson.

Kindergarten

Our kindergarten students participate in Godly Play (www.GodlyPlay.org), an Episcopalian developed curriculum.  Godly Play is a wonderful experience, enlightening children with Biblical storytelling, traditional Christian language, and an environment designed to share the sacraments of Holy Eucharist.

Grades 1 - 4

Children in grades 1 through 4 experience biblical stories using the multiple learning method of LeadersResources Workshop Rotations (www.leaderresources.org).  Lessons focus on the same story for four-week cycles.  Children learn the story using various learning concepts in each workshop room they visit. We are pleased to offer the Workshop Rotation unit devoted to learning about and responding to the sacraments of Holy Eucharist.

Grade 5

Fifth grade students study The Mustard Seed Series (www.mustardseedseries.org).  An Anglican curriculum rooted in Scripture, it “links biblical truths with life’s dilemmas.”  The Mustard Seed Series develops a student’s critical thinking skills from a Christian perspective.  In addition to studying stories about the Old and New Testaments, our fifth grade students will spend time exploring The Book of Common Prayer and the history of the Episcopal Church.

Welcome

The primary mission at St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Preschool is to provide age appropriate educational programs with loving care, grounded in Christian values and traditions. To this end, we employ a loving, caring, experienced staff that is eager for the opportunity to share in the joy and responsibility of teaching your children how to learn in a stimulating social environment.

We provide a safe, warm, and welcoming haven for our students through an atmosphere of learning and development, love and laughter, play and fun. At St. Peter and St. Paul Preschool, we encourage children to be themselves, thereby fostering their self-esteem, independence, and individuality.

The daily routine at our school allows the children to explore areas of familiar tasks and exciting new activities. A typical day provides opportunity for free play, stories, art, music & creative movement, manipulatives, language skills, pre-math skills, outdoor play, and snacks. The 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes attend chapel once a week lead by a member of the clergy.

School Rules

  1. Share
  2. Make new friends
  3. Listen and follow directions
  4. Learn and explore
  5. Make a mess
  6. Have fun

One focus of the school is improving children’s social abilities. We help them learn to share, which is a primary component of getting along with others. They also will be taught to respect their fellow students and have respect for themselves. It is our hope that the children will learn how to make new friends, a skill that will help them throughout their lives.

One of the first rules in any scholastic endeavor is to learn to listen and follow directions. This will be emphasized in the classroom not only in the traditional manner, but also through fun games and play. We encourage children to explore and discover so that they can learn new concepts and problem-solving skills. Each year will provide a building block toward our goal, which is preparing your child for kindergarten and the world beyond.

We feel that the best way to encourage creative thought is through hands-on activities. We want the children to make a mess and use their imagination, all the while helping them to have fun. We want to instill a love of learning and an excitement about school that will carry through their entire educational career. We have a variety of classes to offer for 18 month old toddlers to 4 year old preschoolers.

Confirmation PDF Print E-mail

A right in which we express faith and commitment to Christ and, by prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop, receive strength from the Holy Spirit to continue in the life of faith and commitment. Confirmation is prepared for through a period of study in confirmation class or inquirers' class. Confirmation at St. Peter & St. Paul signifies that a person publicly identifies herself or himself with the Episcopal Church and takes up the responsibility to carry on and support the mission of the church as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Confirmation is offered for all those interested in learning more about the Christian faith and the Episcopal Church. We also invite those who want to refresh their faith and understanding. It is required of those to be confirmed that they have been baptized, are sufficiently instructed in the Christian Faith, are penitent for their sins, and are ready to affirm their confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Confirmation classes for youth are offered during the J2A phase of Journey to Adulthood as part of their curriculum. Youth in this class will be in the 9th and 10th grade at time of confirmation. Confirmation classes for adults are offered each year, beginning in January. This is preparation for the bishop's visit when the sacrament of sealing one's membership into the church is conferred.
