Alleviating Hunger at St Peter and St Paul
More than 12 percent of Georgians live in poverty. In Fulton County, the number rises to almost 25 percent -- one in four people! Of the people served by America’s Second Harvest here in Georgia, 35% had to choose between paying for food and paying their rent or mortgage.
As we begin a new year serving God and our fellow man, please add to your list of favorite charities the 5&2 Hunger Ministry. The 5&2 Hunger Ministry earns money from selling grocery gift cards which is used to support the Cobb County Meals on Wheels, Must Ministry, and families in need within our community. We sell Publix and Kroger Gift Cards and these cards make excellent, convenient gifts and are also useful for every day shopping. They are available in increments of $25, $50, $100 & $200. For 2012, our goal is to sell $100,000.00 in cards which will yield the 5&2 Ministry a net profit of $3,500. Cards are for sale each Sunday in the Parish Hall immediately following the 8:00 & 10:30 a.m. services. Will you please help us achieve our goal?
