Alpha is a ten-week practical introduction to the Christian faith. It offers answers to some key questions and also allows an opportunity to strengthen your faith through small group discussions. Each weekly session begins with an informal dinner, a talk by Nicky Gumbel, and a small-group discussion.
St Peter and St Paul has offered Alpha courses since 2000. Alpha works on many levels:
- It is ideal -- and designed for -- new Christians or the unchurched who are interested in exploring Christianity in a non-dogmatic, safe environment
- Newcomers to our church have found this a wonderful way to get to know other church members on a deeper level and become more integrated in our church family
- Mature Christians have found true spritual renewal and deeper understanding of their faith by watching this series of plain-language videos and participating in small groups where everyone is accepted wherever they are on their spiritual journey.
The new course is about to begin: to sign up call the church office at 770-977-7473 or call Deelee Freeman at 770-645-8216.
What is Alpha? Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian Faith. Adults of all ages are welcome. Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to have fun at the same time! People meeting together. An opportunity to get to know others and to make new friends. Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks. Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is seen as too simple or too hostile. Alpha is open to all people interested in the Christian faith!! We invite all of our neighbors regardless of membership, faith, or religious belief.
Alpha began in
London and is now held in thousands of churches around the world. Join the thousands who have found answers to their questions about life and God and how they relate. Did you miss out on the first course that was offered? Here is your chance to participate in the next course!

Alpha Weekend Away at
Callaway
Gardens, Fall 2000.
"It has been great to take part in the discussion groups each Sunday and to talk through some of the really difficult questions that test our faith, such as how to make sense of the tragedies that befall good people. It's refreshing to know that as Christians it's ok to struggle with these issues, and that Alpha provides a safe environment to talk about our doubts as well as our positive experiences of God's love for us." ~ Alpha participant
