Describe your long term vision and how you would use your gifts and talents to help reach this vision. St. Peter and St. Paul’s Parish has become a dynamic force in our community and in our Diocese because of the dedication and service of many individuals over the years. As we have now grown to “corporate” status, we cannot allow “Bigness” to cloud our vision toward keeping everyone involved. I firmly believe in the Rotary Motto – “Service above Self; He profits most who serves the best!” As a church leader, my vision will be to continue to serve as best I can and to encourage active participation in the ministries others may be called to serve.
As a potential member of the vestry, what specific accomplishments would you like our parish, clergy and vestry to achieve? Well on our way to financial freedom from our mortgage, we must finish off the payments of our indebtedness, especially in light of the significant difficulties caused by the economy. We must be prudent in our financial stewardship but, realistic in our ability to fund outreach programs which have been such a cornerstone of St. Peter and St. Paul’ Church. As a vestry member, I would continue to work hard to grow our JobSeekers Ministry to further support our parishioners and community at large; sharing our support and love for Christ.

Name: Steven Hadley Marital Status: Widowed Children: Corey and Ryan What is your vision for St. Peter & St. Paul? Describe your long term vision and how you would use your gifts and talents to help reach this vision. I have always been involved in the area of buildings and grounds both at SPSP and my former church in NH. My vision is to see our facilities well maintained and updated to handle the growth now seen in the church. Our meeting areas are extensively used, furniture, carpeting, cushions, etc. will need to be replaced and/or increased in the fairly near term. I will use my talents to help prioritize these efforts, help research needs and bring solutions. As a potential member of the vestry, what specific accomplishments would you like our parish, clergy and vestry to achieve? I like the direction of our parish, our membership is growing and the amount of programs being offered is growing as well. Our facilities are in constant need of repair and upkeep; I would like to see us continue to make improvements. The capital campaign has many items for the buildings and grounds such as a new (improved) parking lot and traffic pattern, an elevator for handicap and special needs folks, new handicap accessibility bathrooms, and fire door replacements. I would like to see all this happen in the time frame of the next vestry term. How long at St. Peter & St. Paul and/or any other Episcopal Church? I have been a member of SPSP since 1996. I was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Goffstown, NH from 1988 until 1996 and was on the vestry in NH from 1992- 1995. Forums or Church related activities you participate in and your role in each: Buildings and Grounds Forum Co-chairman; Sweet P’s Logistics Leader ~ helped coordinate Sweet P’s exhibitor layout, tent set up, cleanup and security; Habitat for Humanity Covenant Churches. Cool Girls volunteer ~ setting up clothes racks and helping with meals. Member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Why do you want to be a member of the Vestry? I believe I can bring a common sense approach to decision making as a member of the vestry and will keep an open mind on all issues presented.
Name: Lee Woodward
Marital Status: Married Spouse: Ann Children: Daniel (22) Drew (20) What is your vision for St. Peter & St. Paul? Describe your long term vision and how you would use your gifts and talents to help reach this vision. Over the past several years I’ve had the pleasure of working with the youth of St. Peter and St. Paul as a Sunday school teacher and EYC advisor. I believe that these wonderful young people are our future and that assisting them in their spiritual growth is an essential mission of our church. In this regard I would like to see more youth participation in church activities, especially in such areas as mission outreach.
As a potential member of the vestry, what specific accomplishments would you like our parish, clergy and vestry to achieve? As we work toward retiring our debt and controlling our operating expenses I would like to see us develop an increasing commitment toward outreach with the ultimate goal of becoming a 50/50 parish.
How long at St. Peter & St. Paul and/or any other Episcopal Church? Ann and I became Episcopalians in 1987. Our family moved to St. Peter and St. Paul in 1993.
Forums or Church related activities you participate in and your role in each: Besides working with our youth I have assisted in various fund-raisers for the church and participated in a number of outreach activities over the years. I have also served as an usher for the past 16 years.
Why do you want to be a member of the Vestry?
My family and I have been blessed beyond measure in the time that we have attended St. Peter and St. Paul. I would like to have the opportunity to repay at least some small part of my indebtedness to this parish. |
