[Jesus said to his disciples] “Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches…” John 15:4-5a

Dear Friends in Christ,
Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
The mystery and wonder of Holy Week and Easter continues to leave me breathless! We experience all the range of human emotion following Jesus and his disciples. And now—beyond all hope—Jesus is victorious! Despite Rome still in power, Jesus’ disciples live free and full and joyfully—because they live together close to God.
Living close to God changes us—changes those around us. In the middle of your daily routine, when cynicism or grief or fear creeps in, remember “close to God.” Live close to God. Learn to recognize God’s voice; acknowledge his presence and desire for the best for you. Rest in his strength; labor in his love and promise.
Jesus is risen from the dead, pouring his Holy Spirit into our lives so that we might live every day close to God. How will you live close to God today? Tomorrow?
The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Yours in Christ,
-Tom
